Keefe Sencen[1]
Keefe is a fun loving prankster who uses jokes to cope with his family life. He handles guilt by becoming increasingly more reckless. He is a very good artist and is proud of his infamously awesome hair. He likes to make bets with Ro, his ogre princess bodyguard and made her call him Lord Hunkyhair after she lost one of their bets. She then made a habit of calling him Lord Funkyhair. He is Foxfire Academy’s resident troublemaker—though he’ll, of course, claim he had nothing to do with “The Great Gulon Incident.” [2], he’s always ready with the perfect joke or prank to make everyone laugh. Naturally, that makes him quite popular at school (though not nearly as popular with the teachers). But while he may be a regular in detention—and know all the best places to ditch class—there’s so much more to Keefe than his prankster ways.
His photographic memory[3] has allowed him to skip an entire grade level, and he’s an excellent friend to Fitz[4] and Biana[5]. He also befriends Sophie[6] from the moment he meets her—and not just because he loves teasing her. His ability as an Empath[7] allows him to read her feelings, which helps him understand her in ways no one else can. He’s always there when she needs him, whether she realizes she needs his help or not. If only he could understand his own feelings for her as easily…
Physical Appearance
Keefe is said to have a very attractive appearance in the books and is proven several times by others. He has carefully disheveled golden blond hair, ice blue eyes, and a tall, lean build.

Abilities
Keefe's registered ability in the Elvin world is empathy. This gives him the ability to sense others' emotions. Regarding empathy, Keefe has the capability to do several things that empaths normally cannot do. For example, he can sense animals' emotions. This has been portrayed in the books when he talks to Silveny.
In book 6, Keefe has also demonstrated that he can also tap into Sophie's emotional center and manipulate it in certain ways - a bit like a beguiler.
Keefe also has the amazing ability to keep a clear memory of everything he has experienced; just like the main protagonist of the series, Sophie. He used this ability when skipping Level One in Foxfire, and uses it when ditching classes in Foxfire -- he learns the subject matter without actually being in the class to learn it. All he needs to do is see the notes. In book 6, Keefe's mother, Lady Gisela, reveals that Keefe inherited this trait from her.
After the thing in legacy Keefe manifests a polyglot when Ro speaks to him in ogreish her replies in the same language. Though before manifesting a polyglot Keefe can mimic lie an expert
For example, he used it when trying to get the cache in Neverseen, the fourth book. He also used it in order to lure Sophie into Magnate Leto's office in Lodestar, the fifth book.
Personality
He is a total prankster. He makes many funny jokes.
History
Early life
Keefe, being the only son of Lord Cassius Sencen and Lady Gisela Sencen, spent his early years living in Candleshade, the home of his parents. During his time there, he was often verbally abused by his father for misbehaving. During these times, his mother attempted to defend him in some way, but most often failed.
Keefe ended up skipping his first year of Foxfire, for his photographic memory gave him a distinct advantage over the other elves of his age.
Since Keefe moved up to the next grade, he got the chance to meet Fitzroy Avery Vacker, who is now his current best friend, though they could also be considered as rivals for Sophie's love.
Book 1: Keeper

In the first book, Keefe was portrayed as a fun-loving character who loved to play pranks. Though that he certainly is, there is more than what meets the eye, something that is elaborated on later in the series. Keefe first enters the series when Sophie is wandering through the walls, trying to find the Healing Center. She finds him ditching his class. When she explains her dilemma to him, he escorts her to the Healing Center. He also comes into the book during times when Sophie goes over to the Vacker's to play Base Quest. |

Relationships
- Sophie Foster
Sophie and Keefe are extremely close friends. Sophie says that she will always forgive Keefe. It is revealed in the Nightfall special edition short story that Keefe has a crush on her-and that he'll always be waiting until she was ready for more.
- Fitz Vacker
Fitz and Keefe used to be quite close-until Keefe joined the Neverseen to be a double agent. However, their relationship is getting repaired.
- Biana Vacker
Biana and Keefe are good friends. Biana used to have a crush on Keefe.
- Dex Dizznee
Keefe and Dex have been good friends/pranking partners ever since the forth book, Neverseen, where the grew closer in Allveture.
- Tam Song
Keefe and Tam have a strange relationship. When they first meet in the 4th book, Neverseen, they started out with mutual dislike of each other. However in the latest books, the two of them slowly start to accept the other, especially in the eighth book, Legacy, where Tam was forced to use shadowflux on Keefe.
- Linh Song
Keefe once asked Sophie if the Neverseen hurt Linh (to which Sophie replied no)
- Wylie Endal
Keefe was concerned when Wylie was attacked by the Neverseen
- Lord Cassius
Lord Cassius is Keefe’s father. Lord Cassius is cold towards his son and has extremely high standards (including being the very top of the level, even though Keefe already skipped a grade). He also dislikes Keefe’s jokester personality and passion for art.
- Lady Gisela
Lady Gisela is Keefe’s mother who he viewed as “the good parent” in his childhood.
